Welcome to the Urban Culture course at Avila University created by Susan Lawlor and Dotty Hamilton. We travel with our students to great cities to explore art museums, engage with the architecture, study the local film and music venues, and experience the ethnic enclaves as a way to learn about the culture of urban spaces and the interaction of art and environment. It's a fun, intense learning environment.
It is funny to see this picture and reminisce to the first day. Up o n arriving to the airport many of us didn't know everyone's name. However, after arriving to Montreal you would've thought we'd known each other forever. The cohesion of this group was great and made the trip much more enjoyable. I really appreciate everyone's willingness to explore together. I couldn't imagine traveling with a better group.
