WELCOME

Welcome to the Urban Culture course at Avila University created by Susan Lawlor and Dotty Hamilton.  We travel with our students to great cities to explore art museums, engage with the architecture, study the local film and music venues, and experience the ethnic enclaves as a way to learn about the culture of urban spaces and the interaction of art and environment.  It's a fun, intense learning environment.

  2. I thought that the entire trip was highly educational and I learned a great deal more about Chicago and what makes it such a fantastic city. That being said there were multiple things which stuck out in my mind and could comment on them as well but the view from the Willis Tower was unbelievable. Once at the top you really gain a much better understanding of just how vast and far reaching the city of Chicago actually is. Virtually as far as the eye could see there were businesses, homes and various other structures which help build the city up. It was a reminder of just how much can be accomplished by Americans or better yet man kind when we all get together and work together.
